The Parisian Nightlife

Paris by Night

If you are going to visit Paris at some point, I recommend that you add the Moulin Rouge show to your to-do list. Not only is this the most beautifully put-together show in theater but it is quite entertaining too. Just know that this show is not recommended for children and I would say people under the age of 18 as there is a great number of topless young women dancing on that stage. Actually, make that half-naked. I was fascinated by how similar their body shapes and facial features were. At some point I thought I was seeing the same person!

The show is in high demand and tickets do tend to sell out. Tickets are not cheap either. You're looking at about R1,200 per person and then you can choose whether to add champagne, dinner or whatever add-ons available on offer. The price will then change upwards depending on what else you add. It was probably much cheaper when we went 5 years ago but I got this price off the net recently. My advice would be that you book your ticket well in advance and to rather buy directly from the Moulin Rouge official site because I've read posts of people being ripped off buy third party issuers. We got our tickets via Trafalgar who were our tour operator. I'm not sure which channel they sued to purchase the tickets but being a big international tour operator, they probably get significant discounts buying directly from Moulin Rouge. The show is quite long (about 2hrs from my recollection) so be sure to pick a slot that works with your body clock.

Techicalities and admin aside, this show is quite impressive. Everything is so well-synchronized.  You will be hard-pressed to spot anything off beat.
